I'm excited about this post because I get to think about stuff I would want in my future home. When I was younger, my parents remodeled the WHOLE house. I still remember the smell of paint, wood flooring, and grout. That was a fun time. I loved exploring Lowe's, Home Depot, Pottery Barn, and other various home decor stores with my mom. I would pick and choose what I thought would be perfect in our house. Of course, I was into bright pink, royal blue, and the most obnoxious oranges. (What was I thinking?) My mom would tolerate me, but she would simply say that she wanted her home to be timeless. She wanted neutral furniture with sleek designs. (We do have a red leather couch though...it's absolutely lovely). But during that time, I learned how to choose classic and neutral designs that add a sleek, fresh, and modern look to your home.
So when Modani contacted me with the opportunity to create a style/mood/inspiration collage using their pieces, I thought this was right up my alley. Or it's up an alley that I want to refine and explore more of. I don't really think a lot about home decor because I'm in this apartment with little space and not much for creativity. So I endlessly pin beautiful rooms on Pinterest and I never think much of it, but here are some picks I would LOVE to have in my home.
I'm a big believer in sticking to the basics when it comes to clothes and I feel the same way when it comes to furniture. Invest in the basics, I tell you! (Minimalism is beautiful.)Then accessorize with color and all that jazz. I'll post links to some of my favorite art prints, too!
First things first, the furniture.
1 // Modani's Olso Sectional Sofa. Of course, I LOVE the grey and the L-shape. Tyler and I are all about that L-shaped couch. But no microfiber fluffy stuff. Go for a luxurious grey fabric or a black leather. Modani has a variety of materials for your sofa. Out with the microfiber, in with the luxury. You'll thank me, later. That's what my momma taught me. Plus, grey goes with just about anything. It's the perfect neutral...think of bright pillows and the loveliest throws!
2 // Lugano Library. THESE SHELVES. Oh. my. gosh. I can't even. These are so major. They would be the conversation piece of any room. You could even make them a wall. Filled with books and trinkets from travels and flea markets. Ooo it feels so right.
3 // Boden Floor Lamp. A well lit room is an absolute must. Try to get as much natural lighting as possible, but make sure you have some minimalist, modern lighting that brightens every room. I love the simple yet artistic design of this piece.
4 // Moha pillow. I love the metallic look. It's elegant and classic.
5 // Fabiana pillow. I'm hesitant about graphic pillows with words, because those words get old, but "cool" never gets old. Never. That word has been around forever. It has withstood the test of time. So why not put it on a pillow?
And now for some very cool honorable mentions!
Deer beds.
Faux, of course and only.
This art print.
And this pillow.
If you are looking to invest in some great pieces for your home, check Modani out. If you can't invest now, go there for inspiration. You will definitely find it.
What are some key pieces you want in your home? Any decor tips for me? Comment away and follow along while I try to stay gold.
