Runway Recap // Jason Wu, Jenny Packham, Jill Stuart, Kanye West X Adidas Original, Kate Spade

Jason Wu knows how to dress women, and he's dressed about all of them. The black shoes with this white frock just work. His collection was an eclectic mix of work-wear, tailored tops, shimmering details, and white gracefulness. This would be an amazing, unconventional wedding dress. 

When I think Jenny Packham, I think femininity. Pure femininity. Her gowns are so major. A little bohemian inspired, a little surge of 1970's, and a little bit of glitter can take you far, as Jenny Packham shows us. Luxurious and modern, but with a dramatic flair like a black and white movie. That's her in a nutshell to me. Oh another thing about Jenny Packham, her wedding dresses are by far the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I almost got one for my wedding. True story. But oh the money my parents would have had to drop.

Cute girls in cute, short dresses with the best shoes. That's Jill Stuart for you. 

Ok, Kanye, I only like these two pieces because you collabed with Adidas. It's hard for me to like you, but that pink number is the bomb. I want all of the tights, but I could go without the "I'm naked, but I'm not" look. Maybe it's too high fashion for me, or  maybe I'm just modest by nature. That oversized t-shirt though. Dreamy. 

And then Kate Spade walks through the door and makes all my wildest dreams come true. Oh Kate Spade. Dear, lovely, adorable, perfect, sporty chic, Kate Spade. Kate Spade makes happiness happen in fashion week. You get invited to her show/presentation and you are the most beloved person. You are the coolest person too. You are the "It" girl person!  I LOVED her collection. It was Upper East Side Gossip Girl infused with sporty casual amazingness, kinda a la J.Crew. It's like Blair Waldorf,  Serena Van der Woodsen, and Cher from Clucless had the most perfect clad in plaid fashion baby. I. Am. All. About. It.

1 // Where do I even begin? Not even kidding when I say this is supremely overwhelming. I look forward to this day every February. J.Crew Collection Fall 2015 is so important. It just is. Let's break it down shall we, Jenna and her team of amazing people with amazing taste get together and put together the best of the best of their beautiful brains. A wool coat paired with a luxurious scarf and silk dress with the best pattern of the softest peach. It's all so beautiful. The styling. The hair. The makeup. AGH. I can't even. #LifeGoals #CareerGoals

2 // And then you get classically beautiful silouhettes like this. A cashmere sweater draped over a shirt dress that screams grace. The clutch. The clutch, people. 

3 // This shirt has eyelashes. IT'S GREY AND HAS GOLDEN EYELASHES. IT'S MEANT TO BE IN MY CLOSET. Oh and that skirt. Like, yes. 

4 // Is it a shirt with a skirt. Is it a perfectly adorable dress?  Is it the best thing that has happened to stripes ever? Yes. A million hell yes's to this ensemble.  

5 // Yellow. That yellow is sunshine on a dreary day. It is the brightest darn thing you ever did see and that skirt is so Kate Middleton, I can't even. Her shoes are straight out of an impressionist painting. Straight up dreamy. 

6 // THIS PARKA. That. Is. All. Amen and amen. 

7 // The piece de resistance. The fringe skirt. Twitter was blowing up over this thing. For all the right reasons too. A suede fringe skirt in the prettiest pink. Gimme that. Thank you very much. Matching pumps are also requested. 

8 // BECAUSE HAVING A TEDDY BOMBER JACKET IN THE WEIRDEST BUT COOLEST BRICK COLOR THAT COSTS OVER $500 TOTALLY ISN'T IRRESPONSIBLE AT ALL. 

9 // Tassles on your heels and gold all over. Oh and a parka with a fur collar. You can't forget that. You just can't. 

10 // What is with that scarf? What is with that silvery tassled goodness. What is with those shoes? I don't know but it is all good. That grey sweater though. I want that. 

11 // Kate Middleton strikes again only this time she is graced in the best pink and the coolest purple of all time. But seriously, that purple. *Needs to take a breath she is so blown away* 

12 // A military peacoat paired with your best green pants. Whodathunk? Jenna, of course. Plaid scarf as an accessory is always preferred. 

13 // The blazer. That beautiful beautiful shimmery shiny blazer made of sequin and paillettes and all things good in this world. Oh gosh it's too much. 

14 // All your street style dreams have come true with this look. Pair an oversized car coat with your wool blazer. You are sure to keep warm. Trust J.Crew, they know these things. 

15 // IT COMES IN A DRESS?!?! *faints*

Runway Recap // Carolina Herrera, Christian Siriano, Elizabeth and James

Oh hey, remember me? Remember me, Dani, the girl that runs this blog. Remember those Runway Recaps? Yeah, me too. They're still happening. Sorry about the absence. I'm going through some stuff right now. Not sure how soon I'm going to talk about it but I will. For now, enjoy this Runway Recap. As always photos are not my own and you can find them here.

Carolina Herrera is highly anticipated every year and it deserves to be. Her collections are the epitome of grace and classic silhouettes. You want to free like a million bucks? Wear a Carolina Herrera dress. Want to dress like you're the boss and you have three men walking behind you? Wear Carolina Herrera. These three dresses were show stoppers for me. Karlie looks amazing in this watercolor print that looks like a tempest. The white ensemble could pass as the chicest wedding dress and the black number is something that could go straight to the red carpet. Talk about regal. Talk about refined. Talk about Carolina Herrera. That woman. #muse. 

Leave it to Christian Siriano (my least favorite Project Runway contestant) to always pleasantly surprise. He took orange to the next level and he is the master of draping. The collection really speaks for itself. Couture with a wearable and flattering touch. 

If only I had been the one to design Elizabeth & James's line. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are my person goals. They are style stars. They are fashion moguls. They have the most beautiful line of clothing and I want to wear every last piece of it. Take Everyone and turn it up a notch. Take Androgyny and inject it with the slightest touch of more femininity. Take thigh-high boots and make them instantly classic with a blazer or instantly bohemian with a fringe person. Elizabeth and James has found its style aesthetic and they have run with it.

NYFW Runway Recap // Badgley Mischka, Banana Republic, Band of Outsiders

Here we are! Another recap! This is going to take forever, because I loved so many things. So next year, I'm definitely going to force myself to narrow it all down, because this is cray. BUT EVERYTHING IS SO BEAUTIFUL! Oh the inner torment.

I'm a huge Badgley Mischka shoe fan, but they have really become a full force all-around fashion label so I couldn't help but mention this gorgeous read trench and the embellished top. This would be totally be acceptable to wear whenever. The entire collection screams class and refinement and "I'm a very wealthy woman so don't get in my way." Black and red really were popular colors this fashion week. 

Can we please take a moment to talk about Banana Republic? Hello, hey, hi there, Banana, we missed you! You CAN sit with us. Like where did this come from? Banana Republic is known for their fashionable office wear for middle-aged women but their styles are fresh and look beautiful on just about everyone. The collection definitely had a "J.Crew" vibe and silouhette with some Madewell mixed in there, and even though to some it might seem like some little cry for help, it works. It totally works. Gap has been struggling making sales, but I really feel like Banana Republic is making a come back and this aesthetic could carry over to the Gap. Bring on the casual cool look! And bring on that plaid coat! Bring on all of it. 

Band of Outsiders is the label I would wear (1) if I had more money (2) if I could adopt a Scandinavian physique and (3) if I had blonde hair. Okay so reason number one, if I had more money...WAAAY more money to spend on clothes I would definitely buy band of outsiders. Though I'm not a fan of the big buckles, I am a fan of that Swedish Ikea look. You feel it? It's slightly boyish, and I love that. Boyish ain't bad.

Next time: Carolina Herrara, Christian Siriano, Elizabeth and James and DRUMROLL PLEASE.................J.CREW!! Sheesh this is gonna be long. But I don't care!

NYFW 2015 Recap // 3.1 Philip Lim, Alexander Wang, alice + olivia, Anna Sui

Do I love fashion week? Yes I do.

Are there so many runway looks that I loved that I couldn't possible narrow them down to 13 or even 20? Yes.

Am I doing an alphabetical order recap? Of course.

If you don't like Fashion Week. I suggest that you don't read the blog for the rest of the week. Just saying.

Let's get to it!

3.1 Philip Lim was all about moody reds, grey and black. Plaid, leather, fur and military details made their way on every girl that walked the runway. The girls wore minimal makeup with a striking red lip. I love the shoes in these two outfits. I didn't feature a bomber jacket, but the bomber made it's appearance in this show as well. I like Philip Lim's work because it's the perfect mix of feminity, laid back ease, and strokes of masculine detail in the shoes, pants or overcoat. 

Now I'm the curmudgeon that wasn't feeling Alexander Wang this year. It was too intense for me. I'm sorry. I know. I'm a fashion loser if I can't appreciate the coolest designer right now. Really though. So intense. This outfit stuck out though. The palette was similar to Philip Lim, but black was the shining star. The colors were practically the same really. This collection was Paris meets rocker grunge. Everything is edgy and looks like it was perfectly, yet haphazardly put together and that's what makes Alexander Wang, Alexander Wang. Can you believe he is a Parson drop out? 

alice + olivia has been a long time favorite. The pattern play in this collection is luxurious. The dresses were my favorite part and leave it to the brand to create the best skirt of all time. That fringe! Be still my beating heart.

If you're looking for Bohemian glamour, you're looking in the right place at Anna Sui. Can't you just see that white dress on Gigi at the original Woodstock or a clean and whimsical Coachella. Or the celebrity part of Coachella?! Haha. The patterns. The long cardigan. Bohemian isn't my look, but Anna Sui could convince me.
