Inspired // Spring Showers

Monday, March 23, 2015

It's raining right now. And I love it. Forgive me for the lack of links. I do not own any of these images. I found them all on Pinterest.

1 // This time of year has always brought me anxiety and I would be lying if I said that hasn't changed. But amidst the anxiety and uneasiness about the future, I know that there are beautiful things on the horizon. I know that things are going to work out for me. Don't stop believing in yourself, because so many beautiful things are on the horizon.

2 // Are you a wildflower? Yes! I like to think I am. If I could be any flower, it would be a wild one.

3 // Don't you just want to cozy up with a book from those shelves on a rainy day.

4 // This is actually a men's outfit, but I don't really care about that. You knew that already.

5 // A simple street style look for days like today. All you need is an umbrella and you're solid.

6 // Such a good outfit. I'll put this one in the books.

7 // I have a wall in my apartment that this would look great on.

8 // A fishtail braid and the messiest thrown together bun! Dreamy!

9 // This one time at the a white elephant, I chose a succulent and it got stolen from me. I wish I still had it. Or any cactus or any green plant for that matter.

10 // I LOVE styling without a lot of jewelry. I am part of the nothing but precious metals club so accessorizing can be hard (and painful). So thank you ASOS for styling your models so simply it's so lovely.

11 // Another street style look. I love the boxiness and the stripes and the matching pieces. And I love all of it.

12 // For casual days because they are coming. Summer is coming.

//
1 // This is so important. I have been a victim of "theft" and I have probably been a perpetrator. Girls, we need to stop this. We do. We can. Let's stop it.

2 // Stripes, galore. Stripes some more!

3 // If you're in the market for new glasses, check out Warby Parker!

4 // Great wardrobe staples!

5 // This made me laugh, but really don't embarrass your guests.

6 // One of the best #PFW moments. Blue steel? HECK YES!

7 // Have you watched Parenthood? I am obsessed with this show. Except Cristina Braverman is the most annoying mom. Am I the worst? Probably.

8 // Bachelor/ette fans, are you infuriated with the new Bachelorette twist? I sure am. STOP PITTING GIRLS AGAINST EACH OTHER!

9 // Celebs doing their own makeup? Yes!

10 // A street style look right up my alley.

11 // Tom Hanks + Carly Rae Jepsen = heart eyes emoji

12 // HAH! A girl can dream right?

13 // Dream closet.

Monday Muse{ings} // Muses, lately

//

My hair is coated in a coconut mask. Make up off. In the comfiest yoga pants and thriftiest of thrift store shirts. Looking on pinterest at beautiful women and my husband tells me I look like Brienne of Tarth a la Game of Thrones. Bring on the pretty girls that I want to be. Hashtag: Self love. Hashtag: Wishing I was pretty. Hashtag: I'm just kidding. Hashtag: Here are some of my muses, lately. You know, girls that inspire you?

Also, I noticed that a lot of the women featured in these photos are very slim and usually have blonde hair. I just wanted to say that I do like myself and I don't wish to be just like these women. It's just one of those things where you get inspired to dress that way or carry yourself in that way. I just wanted to clarify. ALSO holla to slim girls with blonde hair. They're beautiful. And holla to the girls with hair coated in coconut mask!

1 // I've been thinking a lot about how I will dress when I'm older and wiser and cool like my mom is now (although, my mom has always been cool, she's just a perpetually cool person.) Anyway, yeah, so I've been thinking a lot about that and I've decided I want to still wear jeans and blousy tops. Dress your age, I say, but don't be afraid to channel your inner spirit and throw it back with your style every once in a while. Because a white button-up tunic, light wash jeans, and nude oxfords never killed a middle-aged woman. Mom, you would rock this look btw.

2 // I love ALL black with a pop of blush and gold. Gold, blush, and black. That's all you'll ever need. (I say the same thing about white, grey, and black) Potato, potatah. Bonu points if your pop of blush is a chunky knit beanie and if your pop of gold is a sequin(??) clutch.

3 // I always love styling with minimal jewelry. I am all about basic pieces with stand out patterns that can stand alone. Not that I don't like jewelry. I love it. The only problem is is that I have the hardest time wearing it. Since I was a child, my skin has hated all fake metals (so glam, I know) and I can only wear the real deal (so glam, I know, I know). So I will endure the cheap stuff for a day and suffer for a week (ghastly rash, psoriasis (so glam, I know, I know, I know))...so you don't see me wearing a lot of baubles. Though a girl can dream. Anyway, that's why I love the simple looks. Bonus points if your simple look involves a white dress from Free People with a quirky and awesome grid print.

4 // Because all of us have that inner grunge girl that hangs at the beach in an oversized flannel. Hey, it can get pretty breezy there!

5 // Because all of us not-so secretly wish we could be Lauren Conrad's hair...wait I mean Lauren Conrad. We all wish we could be Lauren Conrad.

Who are your pinterest muses? Any type of girls that you pin too much? Is this a weird phenomenon? AM I THE ONLY GIRL THAT DOES THIS!?! Send help!

Inspired // Bring on the coats

1 // I want to rock this look this fall. I love the simple coolness.

2 // The elements to this outfit are so simple. White sneakers. Regular wash skinny jeans. Oversized white t-shirt. Black sweater. Light colored coat. You're good to go. I also think the delicate gold necklace is the perfect touch.

3 // A pop of red can never do you wrong. Neither will a pop of plaid either. 4 // A pop of leopard never hurt nobody either.

5 // Olivia Palermo can work any look. I kid you not. One day she will look impeccably fancy, and the next she'll look impeccably like this. I need to master this finesse. 6 // Scarves are so good. I can't wait to break them out again.

7 // My fall closet in a nutshell. Also, if you haven't gotten a pair of slip-on sneakers, where have you been?

8 // Okay so we can't all look like we've walked straight out of Paris, but we can try.

9 // I love the extra "V" detail of this gray sweater. Also... I've seen those kicks everywhere on campus.

10 // Guys, I'm having a mad love hate relationship with this sweater. Hate: It's from Urban Outfitters. Love: It comes in a gorgeous olive green, and I mean, just look at it.

11 // Everyone raves about Rachel Comey "getting them." Well, here's my two cents about that...she gets me.

12 // DO as the Europeans do. No really, just do it.

13 // Ooo doesn't this make you want to mix gray cable knits with deep red plaids? Yeah, me too. 14 // And of course a post by Dani is no post without Birkenstocks. Long live!

What's inspiring you? Are you totally crapped out because the format of this post is wonky? Welp. That's a shame. No really, what's inspiring you?

Inspired // A good dose of Sunday inspiration

+ a list of songs that are SO in for me right now. Aight?

Fall is always good to me. I want it to come so fast my toes ache. Also...I've decided to not let my comfort in my clothes be determined by pounds lost. I mean, I always say that...but it's always good to make that commitment again.

I'm also making a big leap and buying more black. I think my hearts a little black. I don't know. What do you think? What's inspiring you for this Fall? Let's discuss. Or not. Whatever you like.

1 // This chunky, oversized, structured, boxy, tweed what have you sweater has been on my pinterest wish list for like as long as I've had a pinterest. Why is it not in my closet?

2 // Because stripes and gray are always a must. They just are. Like...don't you think? I mean...You can't really go wrong.

3 // Well hot dog! A leather jacket and floral skirt. I think I want to try the midi skirt, sock, and boot kind of thing. I like that a lot actually. Frumptastically stylish.

4 // Because simplicity is the best policy.

5 // I'm starting the all black thing simply first. Black and boxy tops with classic skinny jeans.

6 // I hope I'm a #madewell girl in the after-life.

7 // Ok, so I don't know why I love this jacket so much...but I do. It's not even my style, but I would totally not mind working it into my wardrobe. Maybe I'd size down. What do you think?

8 // Yes, I want to be her. Because the actually reality is that I would wear this outfit because I have ten different versions of it.

9 // Again, black. + birkenstocks. So extra cool.

10 // I LOVE long sleeve t-shirts with shorts. I looooooove it.

11 //  *sigh* perfection. I have 3 pairs of ripped jeans that have stayed tucked away in my closet because I'm not allowed to wear them at work and I work every single day. I am a sucker for ripped jeans and that cardigan is MAJOR. So soft and simple and slouchy. And of course, there is no need to get me started on the stripes. It's me in an outfit. If I am allowed to say that.

Inspired // Laid back, always.

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

I am not a laid-back person. Not at all. My style on the other hand. Totes laid back. So laid-back that I said totes in a blog post. Eh, what a buzz kill to inspiration. Be inspired anyway, I say!

1 // I feel like this outfit is the essence of Saturday morning brunch and a walk on the beach. So pretty much the dreamiest lifestyle of all.
2 // Notice how I said laid-back not edgy? But being edgy would be my dream. My denim dream.  My edgy denim dream.
3 // Yaaaas.
4 // *faints*
5 // Teeny tiny picture of best oversized outfit ever.
6 // I would go on many fancy dates in this outfit.
7 // Another teeny tiny picture of perfectly simple style.
