Friday Favorites and some Instagrams

Friday, July 20, 2012

First, I would like to say that my thoughts and prayers go out to the many people in Colorado that are suffering because of the shooting tragedy today. May God bless them, and may they find the strength and hope to overcome such a grievous trial. There are evil people in this world, but I promise you there are many good. Many angels and right now those people need the angels. May we all remember them today, tomorrow, and the next day.

My first favorite is Sharissa.
She is a lovely girl and I got to make delicious sugar cookies with her at school. I love her blog and while I was reading it today, I looked at her "I Stalk These People" List and my tumblr was on it. I was so honored. It was so sweet to see that. She later made this post and my day was made. I was really hesitant at first about my tumblr and this blog, but the more I become a part of the communities the more I realize how nice and wonderful people on the internet can be. AND NOT in a completely creepy way. Thank you Sharissa!

Favorite #2: Hunting for new glasses.
One of the pairs. I might buy these.
I have two pairs of glasses, one pair is extremely old, the other, fairly new, but the frames are made out of a fake metal that irritates my skin. Needless to say, I am in desperate need of a new pair because not being able to see clearly, and having a skin rash on your face isn't fun. I went to Costco Optical and tried on some funky new pairs and I think I found some that I definitely want to consider. There is something about my glasses that I take pride in. I love finding unique pairs to wear. Here's hoping that I can finally make a decision and get some.

Favorite #3: Being invited to Friday Scary Movie Night.
Back when I was in school, my roommates and our friends across the hall started watching scary movies together every Friday. Now that most of us are away, we can't do that, but this week my friend Leah invited me. Unfortunately, Valley Boy was in town. Okay that's not unfortunate at all, but he had previously asked me out this Friday. I felt bad that I couldn't go. I always love being with those girls.  Next time ladies, next time. I hope you got your fright for the night.

Favorite #4: My date tonight and my date tomorrow.
Today, Valley Boy and I watched the Dark Knight Rises. Usually movies would be lame for a date, but I think we have reached the point where silences aren't awkward and we talk to each other anyway. He's great. Also, I'll be seeing him again tomorrow. That always makes me happy.

Favorite #5: This girl.
So cute.

Boy do I love her. She watches Friday Night Lights with me. She sings at the top of her lungs in the car with me. We laugh together. We talk about boys, life, food...she's amazing. I love my sister.

Favorite #6: Lush

Being a Youtube Beauty guru enthusiast, I have always heard amazing things about Lush Cosmetics.  I was always a little hesitant though, because what if it was all one big hype? What if those cute bath bombs really didn't do what they say? What if the masks weren't all that natural. What if the products weren't what they were cracked up to be? Well something I live by is "You never know if you never try" so once I found out that City Creek had a Lush, I made sure to visit. Every time I would walk in I would be greeted by the absolutely lovely and kind workers, but I never walked out with anything. I'm telling you this happened three times, until this week. I had read reviews on the lip scrubs earlier in the week and was destined to try one out. I tried the lip scrubs, then was dazzled by the magical bath bombs, then I remembered my stress breakouts and asked if they had anything to help me with those, which led me to a toner that I couldn't afford at the moment, which then led me to the whopper of a sample that she gave me, which made me want to buy everything in the store and tell Kelsey's (the girl who helped me) manager to give her a raise. I left the store with a facial cleanser, a whopper sample, and a yummy lip scrub. They all deserve a post later. So thank you Lush for your great products and great staff. They sure know how to pamper a girl.

What have been your faves this week? Comment below! Until later, stay golden.
