Wishlist Wednesday // Staples

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

Whoooa there, a wishlist wednesday? I haven't done one of these in forever, but I thought I'd grace you with a classic post about classic pieces (or pieces that I think are classic). Basically I'm showing you some key pieces that I have in my closet that I never want to part from. Lez do dis.

Oh you guys, I wish I could say mine weren't from J.Crew but they are. Mine have two rips in the knee and they are perfect in every way. They are mid rise, perfectly skinny and perfectly cropped. Ooo I love them. I did not buy them at $115 though, I got really lucky and got my pair during an end of season sale online. They were an extra 50% off, so keep an eye out, okay? They are the best and they go with just about everything.

Also, any black skinny jean will do. American Eagle, Gap and even Levis have some great quality pieces. OH MY GOSH. I forgot about Old Navy. That place has bomb skinny jeans. The Rockstar Skinny Jeans are my favorite, and they are a decent price and they are always on some sort of sale. Really though, since I'm not the biggest leggings person, I love these. I also have a pocketless pair with a side zipper that I use that are jeggings, so there's an option as well.

P.S. I honestly don't wear these a lot in the summer; I opt for a blue wash. Heck, I opt for shorts and dresses half the time. This post isn't supposed to be about summer staples, but I feel it's going that way.

Whether it's floral, striped, chambray, pink, black, blue, white, orange, t-shirt material, poplin, or cotton, shift dresses are the most comfortable pieces for summer. I love this dress because of the summery print, but I also have so many others in plain grey, stripes or checker. You can throw them on, and if you are someone like me who has to worry about thighs getting sweaty and rubbing together, throw on some cute lace shorts...or garments, you know if you're Mormon. I also am a big fan of fit and flare dresses from Gap, H&M and Old Navy, but I feel like the shift is a little bit more laid-back and I'm all about laid-back.

Yours does not need to be black. My mom has the striped version and I saw someone with a cobalt blue version the other day. I love this thing. I wore it to my interview with Anthropologie with some booties and a structured eyelet blouse and it was great. It's airy, but sophisticated. You can also dress it down with some cook slip-ons or even an awesome band t-shirt. You heard it from me first. The midi length is totally cool now and it's a very versatile piece.

I'm a loser when it comes to white button up shirts. They get so dirty when I wear them. I can wear every other white t-shirt or something, but when it comes to white button-ups I'm the number one winner when it comes to getting that stain. So I go for the chambray/tencel look because it's lightweight, breezy, and it gives you that street style look that you're (I mean I'm) looking for.

Remember when the western denim shirt made a come back and it worked? Yes. I do. Praise.

I strongly encourage you to try the half-tuck with this baby for maximum style effect.

In store, this baby is only $9.00 right now, I have a short-sleeve version of this and it's so dreamy. It looks great with just about everything. It's white. It's cotton. It's whimsical. It's girly. It's cool. Pop on some light wash denim or any denim for that matter and some gold jewelry then call it a day.

I don't have this one exactly, in fact, I have yet to find the perfect striped top. My latest one shrank so I'm keeping my eyes open. But this one is #goals. Thanks for getting me Madewell. Thanks for it all.

So mine is from Madewell and it's a complete different style. Again, a really good sale made we do it (harhar). But there is always a grey pullover somewhere in the fashion universe so don't get too disappointed.

8 // Flats for When You Feel Fancy

Holy goodness gracious, I love these flats. I have wide feet so D'Orsay flats are tough for me, but these are like butter. I love a good flat that makes you feel fancy.

Because I have the classic black and white checkered pair and I can't get enough of them. I will wear them with everything (much to my mother's dismay). They are just that good. Sure you might think they look like nurse shoes, but I don't mind one bit.

(Anyone else notice how my titles turned from practical to overdone in four five seconds? Me too.)

EH...Stay Gold.

These are the sweaters I want and I will have them one day. Even if I have to take the Frontrunner to the nearest store.

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

The title is long, because the post will be extremely short. Art History is calling, my friends. And I must go.

1 // This is heaven with skinny jeans, leggings, that white shirt tucked underneath, on a rainy day, on a snowy day, on a fall leafy day. It's just straight up clothing heaven. Those pockets? I die.
2 // Call me a Tootsie Pop because I am a complete sucker for gray. Complete. Those pockets, though. I can't get over them.
3 // Alright. I'm done. THIS is too good. A raglan gray sweatshirt with jewels? Count me in.

What's on your wishlist? Have you been taking advantage of J.Crew's extra 40% off sales items deal? Jump on that. I know I should have. Oh well...I said the same thing about the Merino Swing Sweater and I got my hands on it so I have no doubt that I will own the pocket one soon. Well, that's all today folks.

Happy wishing.
Stay gold.

Shoes, a pretty necklace, and some pants.

Pants that won't show that I gained 5. I know I should treat myself better and stop beating myself up about it, but the more I joke about it the better I feel. Laugh at yourself, that's what I always say. Except I don't. Except, now you probably all think that I hate myself, I don't. I just feel incredibly snarky, sassy and sarcastic today. Shame on me. Anyway, here's a wishlist.

1 // I am still on the hunt for the perfect red shoe. Whether it be a flat, a bootie, a sneaker, a sandal. The perfect red needs to be found. Or else this summer tan on my legs will go to waste. It shall not go to waste, I say! (These are quite the splurge, but have you seen them on? They are dreamy.)
2 // The J.Crew Factory Emery flat in Black? Yes, please. These patent leather beauties are an absolute pain to break in, as are many shoes, but they are totally worth it when they are. Who votes that I get the Emery flat in every color? I mean look at that price. Of course, I do.
3 // GET. OUT. OF. TOWN.
4 // Vans for J.Crew AKA overpriced sneakers that can be found for half the price at the outlets. Still, Vans are my go to sneak. Vans and white converse.  And those shoe laces. Yeah, come on. P.S. I'm on the hunt for white converse. I haven't white converse'd it up in years.
5 // Oh so J.Crew has just made the cutest pants ever. I am a sucker for Chino everything. Chino skinnies especially. Every color is fabulous too. Plus, these are super flattering. Really though. Flattering.
6 // I love this. I always oogle over it whenever I'm at the outlets. Doubled up it is sooooooo pretty. It's on sale now. Jump on that, before I do.

That's all for today folks. I'm still dreaming about swing dresses. I can't wait to get my hands on one and then a pair of these shoes and then that necklace. An outfit in the making, my friends. Wishing always warms the soul. Happy wishing and stay gold.

Wishlist Wednesday: iPhone Cases and Other Things

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

The majority of this wishlist is iPhone cases. I am already thinking about getting a new one. Good thing Christmas isn't that far away!

 Society 6 // 1,

Society 6 has the best iPhone, iPad, and computer cases. I love seeing artists put their work on things that will be seen by everybody. There are so many options and everything is so unique. I would recommend checking it out. I can't get enough of the Up! inspired case. So cute!

Kate Spade // 1, 2, 3, 4

So I have an iPhone board on Pinterest, and the Kate Spade cases are what got me started. I wanted their "Eat Cake for Breakfast" case, but unfortunately, that one isn't on the market at the moment, so I settled for some other ones that I like just as much. Aren't they all just adorable? They come with a silicone lining too. Thank you Kate Spade for the beautiful things you design.

Now for clothing and other things!

I couldn't find the link to this, but if you type Gold Bar Necklaces in Google, a lot of results come up. Also, Etsy is full of cute jewelry like this.

2. And if you are a hardcore ring wearer, or if you're worried about losing your wedding ring (for all those married ladies...)

Urban Outfitters // 1
How CUTE is this? How cute?

3. A New Scarf
1

4. Clothes like this for my future children...
ESP No. 1
For the days when they want to look a little bit grungy and edgy. Yep I'm already dressing my children.

5.  These two tops.

ASOS // 1

Helmut Lang // 1

6. AND these BEYOND GORGEOUS shoes

Jeffrey Campbell // 1

Oh my goodness, these are so beautiful. I want them in the weave and in black! Aren't they just perfect? Really though, Jeffrey Campbell never fails to impress me.

What have you been wishin' for lately? Do you have any great sites that sell adorable iPhone cases? I am also looking for cute backgrounds. Lemme know friends! Also, aren't you just loving the fall weather? It's officially here! You better be breaking out the cardigans!

Wishlist Wednesday: Something Warm and Cozy

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

The nights are getting darker, the  mornings are getting cooler. The mountains are turning shades of red, orange, and yellow. I brought my cardigan collection from home. Fall will be here in a matter of days people, and I cannot wait any longer. Get ready for the best wishlists so far, because fall means fashion season! Here we go...

1. ASOS Textured Knit Snood
1
I have decided that EVERYONE needs a snood for Fall and Winter.  This one from ASOS is perfect. It's affordable, it will keep your neck and chest warm, you can wear it with just about everything. Dress it up or dress it down and you have a statement piece that everyone will want. Really though, give me that whole outfit the model is wearing. I want that sweater too.

2. HATCH Collection: Maternity
2
So I'm not going to be pregnant any time soon, but I saw this post by Elaine Hearn and I got the baby bug...or the strong desire to wear these maternity clothes. The great thing about them though, is that you can wear them even if you're not pregnant, and seeing as I LOVE oversized clothing, this collection is perfect for me. I'll take the whole outfit, especially that coat and those leather leggings...and the beanie...yes the beanie.

3. All things Polka-Dot
3
These just went on sale at American Eagle. And this shirt would be perfect paired with a pretty cardigan, cargo skinnies, a scarf, or a black maxi. Polka dots are a pattern that will never go out of style. They are just like stripes..they even go with stripes!

4. Dark Printed Pants...Cords preferably.
4
Before you say anything nasty about Cordouroy, they are the best pants for fall. They are comfortable and they keep you warm. So give your jeggings or sweats a break and slip on a pair of these. The print is subtle, yet still unique enough to make everyone say,"HEY, I want those." They are a different take on the floral, printed, and colored jeans trend. You could wear these with every print and every shirt. I dare you to try it. Also, Madewell has the best styling, they make you want to buy the whole outfit. So I'll take the cords, plus the striped shirt and the flats. Who wouldn't?

Wishlist Wednesday: Sweater Weather and Adorable Shoes

Fall is approaching. So break out your comfy cardigans, chunky sweaters, and sharp shoes. It's time for SWEATER WEATHER! Here are some pieces that I want in my closet this fall.

This isn't a sweater, but I sure want it.

Burberry
Would I ever fork over 1,000 dollars for a parka? Probably not. Burberry makes the best outerwear though, I might be tempted.

 As for shoes...
