Some snapshots of our wedding day. Unedited. Not posed...well sort of. Still perfect.

When in Newport Beach, visit Newport Beach.
It was the sunniest day.
You know, I have NEVER been fan of posed wedding photos, but our photographer and family friend Kathy was so wonderful, we had to do it. Plus she has known the Abbott Family since they were mere babes so it had to happen.
One of my favorites.
Stay gold.
Moments before this...my mouth was wide open with happiness.
The Family.

The new family.
Krystal's arm is the greatest thing on this earth. Gosh, I love that dress.

Yes, so the wedding has been on my mind. It's all I muse about basically. Stay gold, lovelies.

Terrific Tuesday: A Dillards Experience

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

So every January 1st, since I became interested in fashion, clothes, and things like that, my mom and dad take me to the New Years Sale at Dillards. All reduced merchandise goes for an extra 50% off...so that only means that the deals are phenomenal. It's kind of like my Christmas present. So a couple of days before, my mom and I went to scope out what we wanted. Shoes are always tricky because you never know which ones will go on sale. What boots will be reduced, are those heels going to be 50% off? So many questions, and it doesn't help that they set the various sizes on tables in the middle of the perfume and cosmetics area. So we avoid the shoes on our scope out. We go and look at the clothes and the watches...and the purses. You know that all the purses will be on sale because designers want to get their new collections out there. So we scoped and I decided on a new glitzy Michael Kors watch (because the simple Fossil one that I want won't be on sale until the  middle or very end of the year) and a cable knit cardigan. I then secretly hoped that the oxford heels that I wanted would be on sale. Well the day came. My mom and I woke early this morning and made our way to the trusty ol' department store. Let me tell you, it was like Black Friday....it was like Walmart at Black Friday. Even worse right? I went directly to the watch and my mom went for a pair of boots that she had her eye on...that happened to be on sale. Really the shoe section is chaotic...I saw some people weep over shoes not on sale. I saw a woman grab 10 boxes of boots and throw her body over them. Then I saw a whole load of ladies hoarding boxes of perfume like their lives depended on them. Who needs 10 bottles of Ed Hardy perfume that smells really cheap after 15 minutes? This was all happening while I was trying to SQUEEZE my way to the watches...my heart pounding that my watch that I have checked for every time I've been there, would be taken by these ruthless women.

Well I did make it and I feel like I made a grand leap for the watch. I actually grabbed three. I found a simple gold fossil watch and I held on for dear life. To make things a little less stressful, my dear friend Kadee just so happened to be looking at the watches. After some interesting hugs ( we were being knocked around by the ravenous crowd). I handed her one of the watches...like I was asking her to protect it or something...I don't really know what I was doing. My mind was so fuzzy...it was chaos. She actually bought it for a mission watch and I take a little pride. It will look great on her Sister Missionary wrist. Anyway, so I got my watch. I held on to it while I headed to the shoes, because it turned out that the shoes that I had been wanting were actually on sale. A mighty fine sale indeed. I completely forgot about my precious cardigan. It was sold out when I got there. And I remembered that I had wanted a wallet...those were gone too. People had  3 purses on each arm...and they would have been holding them in their mouths if there wasn't a 6 purse purchase limit. So I bagged the shoes, the watch, and a bra. A bright pink one and I was content. Really I didn't need a flimsy striped t-shirt or a mustard cable knit cardigan. I didn't need a pizza maker either...which I was really tempted to snag...now I secretly wish I would have. I only needed chocolates. Salted caramel chocolates and we got some. I didn't need 10 bottles of perfume either. I even passed up a Cinnamon Sugar Donut candle from Bath and Body Works because I was so worn out. I would say the shopping trip was successful though. And if you wanted to see what I got....look below.

Dani's New Years Picks

Prices are after the 50% was taken off.

The Ultimate T-Shirt Bra // Dillards // $10 // Hot Pink

Michael Kors Oversized Madison Chronograph Glitz Watch // Dillards // $82.50 // White Horn

Ecco Sculptured 65 Lace-up Booties // Dillards // $50.00 // Amber

Born Lisandra Leather Oxfords // Dillards // $30.00 // Taupe

It was very entertaining to see everybody and their dog pounce over shoes, parfums, purses, and material things. It's almost sad really. Thank you mom for teaching me not to hoard boxes of shoes and hiss at everyone who tries to pry them from my hands.

P.S. I was guarding shoes for a really sweet girl meaning, I was just standing by her boxes because she wanted to find another size of a pair. Some girls my age came snooping and I told them they were for someone else. They then decided to snarl at me for not standing close enough and also inquiring nastily why no one was holding them. I simply told them in the sassiest way possible, "Be nice." Seriously though. Grow up. It's not like these are the last pair of shoes you will ever own.

If this post seems a bit rambly and messy...it's because I'm exhausted. hopefully you can forgive. Have a nice night. Happy new year. Stay gold.

Wishlist Wednesday: Back to School, Part 1

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

It's time for another Wishlist Wednesday! Today is Part 1 of my Back to School Wishlist! I don't know how many parts I'm going to do. I might do one of these posts NOT on a Wednesday so we will see. If there is anything you'd like to see on these upcoming BTS posts, please let me know in the comments below.

1. Vans
You may be thinking, "Dani, you just got a pair of Vans, you don't need another one." Well here's my reasoning, once you have one pair you just want ALL the pairs. Actually, I got a 20 dollars off coupon on my next purchase when I bought my first pair of Vans. So I thought, hey why not? I am looking for one of the authentic/classic pairs. I just don't know what color I should get. Leopard? Mint? Light Blue? Chambray? Black? White? Off-white? Navy? I'm trying to not go for gray, because my other Vans are gray, and I have a pair of gray TOMS Cordones. Help this girl out. Tell me what color you think I should get in the comments.

2. A Wishbone Necklace
Shop Bop // Belle Noel Wishbone Necklace
I can't wear a lot of jewelry, but every once and a while I am willing to deal with the irritating rash that I get from wearing jewelry that's not real silver or gold. So when I actually wear jewelry I want it to be pretty, unique, and simple. I thought this wishbone necklace would be a perfect piece to add to my very small collection. I love that it's gold and that it's long. I don't have anything like it.

3. A Watch
Urban Outfitters // Around the World Leather Watch
I have a Michael Kors watch that I wear with just about everything. It's pretty fancy though and I will admit...heavy. Sometimes my wrist is tired by the end of the day, which I don't think is exactly good for my wrist. I haven't been able to wear it as often because of that, so I went on a watch hunt and found this one. I love the face so much. The leather band and smaller face will make it a lot less heavy and flashy. You know how Michael Kors watches are. They are in your face. Beautiful, but in your face. I could wear it with more casual outfits too. I think it will be good to switch it out with something more subtle, but still very different and cool. Also, I love the price on this one. Way more affordable for a college student.

4. Dark Wash Skinny Jeans
AE // 1

AE // 2
My sister got a pair of these jeans, and I secretly wish they were Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants jeans. They are the softest, most comfortable skinny jeans I have ever seen or tried on. They didn't have my size when I went. If you like American Eagle jeans, they are now on sale! They really last forever and worth every penny. Dark wash jeans are classic too. They go with everything. You don't run the risk of the wash going out of style or looking old. The more you wear them, the better they look.

3. A Chambray Blouse
AE // Chambray Artist Blouse
I have two Chambray/Denim button up shirts, but I wanted something a little more dressy. Something a little more girly and blousy. I think it would be easier to style this blouse with skirts. I like the Henley style as well. It makes it a little more feminine. Oh how I want this.

4. A Polka Dot Shirt/Tank/Blouse
J.Crew // Blythe Blouse in Polka Dot
I just want something with polka dots on it. Anything. Preferably this one from J.Crew. But a cheaper version. Yeah.

5. A Zig Zag Sequin Top

J.Crew // Zigzag Sequin Tee
A zig zag shirt. Covered in sequins. Need I say more?

6. FOREVER 21 Pullovers
Forever 21 // Metallic Heart Fleece Pullover
An item that I always buy at Forever 21. Their pullover sweatshirts are so cute. I have a lace front one that I wear too much. They are so comfy and adorable. I want to get a bunch for school. I especially love this one for the big heart and the mint color. It reminds me of a Wildfox Couture jumper...just for the fraction of the price. Awesome huh?

What do you want for back to school? What styles are you excited for when fall comes around? Comment below and have some happy wishing and a very awesome Wednesday!

Wishlist Wednesday: The Beginnings of Summer

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

So the Summer Solstice isn't until June 21st, but that doesn't mean summer weather waits. Well, unless you live in Utah, then you have 60 degree weather after a day of 90 degree weather. It happens, but when it gets hot, let me tell you...it gets hot. So bring on the summer wishlists! Be ready for a lot of color and a lot of fun things.

Currently, I am on the hunt for a new swimsuit and some brighter pieces for the summer. Here are some pieces that have been an inspiration to me. If you guys have any idea where I could find some great but less expensive alternatives. Let me know! Also, make sure to comment below with some things that you have been wishing for.

Welcome summer!!

J.Crew
J.Crew

I love the styles and patterns on these two swimsuits. Polka dots and poppies. Two of my favorite things. The only problem is that I was reading some reviews on J.Crew swimsuits, and they all said that they are definitely flimsy and revealing. They used the term "fripples" you can figure it out. That's the last thing I want.  If any of you have heard different let me know. Also if you know of places that sell this style of swimsuit that is very good quality let me know about that. I just want a cute, flattering, and good quality swimsuit. Is that too much to ask for?
The Gap: Shorts/Hoodie
I am obsessed with the neon trend this Spring/Summer. If I could own every neon pair of pants and shorts I would. I know a lot of people say that you won't be able to wear them after the trend is over, but heck I will. I will rock my neon coral pants and mint green ones forever. You can wear them with anything...if that's your style. It's mine so I think they were a great addition to my wardrobe. Anyway, I love the neon yellow shorts. There are also a pink pair that I think are amazing, but I think the yellow is just cute and really unique. I have seen a lot of pink shorts but not a lot of yellow ones.

Now I included the hoodie because I think it would just be a great thing to wear on a cooler summer day or on a cool summer night. It is a bright and fun color, but it is such a simple piece that it can be thrown on with any casual outfit. I think gap styles everything so well, so I would definitely wear the outfit that it shows in the picture. (With longer shorts of course ;) )

Anthropologie

Every once and a while, I browse the Anthropologie website. Every once and a while...actually all the time I see something that I love. This...this dress is perfect. I love it SO much. It's sold out and I'm sad. Maybe not so much because it's sold out, but because it was $89.95. Sigh...I need to learn how to sew ASAP. And I should probably stop wishing for expensive things. Even if I saved the money, I don't think I would spend that much for a dress when it could be made. Bright and colorful dresses for summer are the best. They are easy to style and wear. They keep you cool. They look cute. They are amazing.

Michael Kors

I already have a Michael Kors watch that I got for Christmas last year. I love it so much and don't need a new one anytime soon, but I saw this on a girls wrist. I know I'm slightly creepy...and I just loved it so much that I had to go try it on at the Michael Kors store at City Creek. I did try it on and I really loved it. Something funny happened though, the sales associate saw the watch I have and she asked if she could try it on. So we traded watches and instead of trying to get me to buy the one I was trying on, she just kept going on about how much she loved the one I already have. It was really kind of her. She even called over another sales associate over to look at it. She asked me where I got it. It was super sweet and awesome of her. They don't sell it anymore though...so I hope she finds one that she likes just as much. I love people who make you feel great. Although I don't need it and won't be getting it any time soon, I love this watch because I think the white and rose gold compliment each other. It's a pretty and great summer accessory.
Modcloth
Modcloth

These two Modcloth pieces really make me realize that I have to stop liking expensive things... I see the prices of both and I just want to cry a little bit. I guess that's why these posts are called "Wishlists". I could only wish. Haha. Red is one of my favorite colors and I think this bag is just so bold and brilliant. It's an amazing pop of color. It's unique and it's so darn cute. I am a sucker for red patented leather.

Now the shoes. CRAZY right? You may be thinking...those would not be cute on anyone, but just click the link. You will see how beautiful and proportioned they are. They look amazing on. I think so anyway. Gosh I love them. I love the big bow, the heel. They are so cute...a girl can dream. Sure you can't wear them with everything but they can sure add the best statement to a simple dress, skirt, or pair of pants. Modcloth...you kill me.

Well that's about all for today. Make sure to comment below with cheaper alternatives, styling ideas, items on your wishlist. I love hearing from you guys. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Stay cool. Be safe, and come back tomorrow for a playlist.
