Friday Favorites // T-Shirts

Friday, May 1, 2015

Hey friends, I have found the drive to keep going. So what if I write about silly stuff like t-shirts? Who really cares? I sure don't.

So let's talk about t-shirts. I own waaaay too many of them. You own waaaay too many of them. Oprah probably doesn't own waaaay too many of them, but she probably would if she could.

Okay and maybe t-shirts aren't the most fashionable thing, but if I've learned one thing about fashion, it's that it's all individual, unless you are applying for a position at Vogue, then you better get your shiz together and find a friend who can get you Chanel samples pieces STAT.

Anyway, I am all about the t-shirt. I've said it once, and I'll say it again...I am a t-shirt and jeans girl. Throw in an oversized bag for a dress and call me fantastic. Take that, Anna! Okay, just kidding Anna...I love you.

So here is a round up of some of my favorite t-shirts to sport when the whether gets warm. I'll try to find all the exact shirts from my closet, but we're just going to do the best that we can. Ya dig? Ya dig.

And one more thing...why don't I wear more color? I need to get my act together.

1 // So I bought this from J.Crew on a mega-sale, for like $14. Well the sleeves were massive and so I chopped them. Now it's the best short-sleeve top I have. The double-stripe gets me every time. Now if I could just find shorts that are gold like those pants.

2 & 3 // The best shirts I have ever spent money on. So they don't look like much and everyone thinks they are too boxy, but they are Gap's best made items, ever, in my very humble opinion. You could honestly wear these reversed, roll up the sleeves, half tuck them, dress up, dress down...I'm currently craving a striped midi skirt to wear them with. The world in your oyster with these babies on. Plus, comfort. They are straight up the most comfortable things. I almost wore the grey one for 3 days straight. Oh wait, I didn't almost, I did.

4 // I think I'm sharing this dress mostly because of the way the girl is standing in it. What is with "models" and all instagram fashion girls standing like this? I put quotations around models, because I don't mean Gigi Hadid models, I mean instagram models or girls from Utah that think they are really stylish. Okay am I being too mean? Probably. Okay, anyway, this dress it's light, it's comfortable and even though it's 3/4 sleeve you can still wear it because it is just that light and airy. The pocket is really cool too. I love a good chest pocket.

I love all t-shirt dresses for this time of year. Target comes out with the best ones. So go look. Size up for a Pinterest, street style, parisian-chic look. And don't brush your hair for good measure. ;)

5 // THIS DRESS. THE HEAVENS OPENED AND THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS SANG AND IT'S ANOTHER PIECE THAT I HAVE TO STOP MYSELF FROM WEARING FOR A WHOLE ENTIRE WEEK.

All dramatics aside, I love this thing. I do, I do, I do. In fact, I should start a list of pieces that I will wear for the rest of my life. Or I should write a list in a notebook of things to never give away.

6 // The A-Line top from H&M is a perfect staple for spring. It's swingy and it comes in different prints and colors. Unfortunately it shrinks horribly in the wash. My poor striped one is a few inches short now and I'm wondering if I should part with it. So hand-wash. Annoying, but just do it. Or buy a new one. It's $12.95 and I'm considering it.

7 // The jersey tops that are $9.95 from H&M are another great piece. They also come in different colors and prints. They are also VERY comfortable. Like wearing a pajamas, but cool pajamas that you're not embarrassed to wear in public. They are extremely flattering too. I love flattering tops.

8 // A t-shirt with varsity stripes. I have this one in all three colors, but there are better quality ones out there for cheap. These ones are seeing their last day, but I still like them. They are easy to throw on and I love wearing them with necklaces. Believe it or not, Forever 21 one versions of this shirt are WAY better for the price. These are particularly good with statement necklaces. So, you know?

Alright, that's it! What are some of your warm-weather essentials? Let's talk.

Have the best weekend!

Inspired // Stripes

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

To be honest, it's hard NOT to be inspired by stripes. They are a crowd favorite and although curmudgeons like to tell you they make you look wide and busty, who cares. That's a pretty regular myth anyway. I say screw it Sailor. Wear all the stripes you can. Here are some class black and white stripes you can work this fall.

Mind you, stripes of any color and variety are great. I am also partial to navy and white, red and navy, and white and red. Oooo I can taste the classic from here!

1 // One of my favorite looks. Black jeans with a striped shirt. It's simple but it's put together. I have a Saint James tee that I absolutely love. I found it on eBay on a killer dealer and it has lived up to its reviews. If I wake up in the morning and I am having a bad case of "outfit block" I pull this look on and I'm good to go. People may think I'm basic, but sometimes you gotta be basic.

2 // Hatch Collection is the J.Crew of Momma clothes. If only I had the money to splurge on their beautiful pieces. On the bright side they are well worn investments because you can wear the stylish pieces before, during, and after pregnancy. The whole look is precious. So precious I could wrap it up in a silver bow and give it to you for Christmas. (What the heck, Dani?)

3 // Striped sweaters! Whoduhthunk?

4 // *Breathes in immense amount of fresh air* that's how I feel when I see Alexa Chung's street looks. She is one of my style icons. I love the yellow, the tights, the striped dress, the coat. The everything.

5 // A unique and simply lovely dress for just about every occasion.

6 // And lastly, my goal is to recreate this look. It's perfectly  put together and I love that. I love effortless looks that you can fill your closet with. I really want to fill my closet with pieces that I could grab in the dark and be satisfied wearing when I walk out of the house.

Wishlist Wednesday // Fall Finds

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

You need these beauties in your closet. Ok. I could be biased, because these are in my closet and I LOVE them. I mean love. I do. You should too. OR you could comment below with what YOU are looking forward to wearing during the Fall or during those cold, rainy days of Utah summers...*snorts because there is no such thing*

p.s. thanks for the immense, deep, and personal love you have all sent me from my past posts. You are all gems. Golden gems.

1 // I just. It's so perfect. Like I could wear this every day of the week. I mean, I have really gotten into v-necks lately. Let the collarbones show. Just let it. Wear a breezy sweater all year round with this. I really wanted the olive one, but it was sold out when I first bought it. Now it's back on the market, but I can fork over $30 when I got it for $15. I kid you not. Navy is JUST fine.
2 // Ugh. It's so good. It's structured. It has zippers. It's on ebay.
3 // For sports enthusiasts who aren't actually sports enthusiasts. So basically me.
4 // Welp. It's a gray sweatshirt. One word. BOMB. Or to be more formal, the perfect piece for Fall. You can't go wrong with a gray shirt that you don't really sweat in because that is so last year and sweatshirts are strictly for fashion now. #normcore
5 // Converse lovers get out of here, because Converse are out. Vans are in.

p.s. I got everything with an extra 40% off awhile   ago so don't judge me.

Inspired // Laid back, always.

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

I am not a laid-back person. Not at all. My style on the other hand. Totes laid back. So laid-back that I said totes in a blog post. Eh, what a buzz kill to inspiration. Be inspired anyway, I say!

1 // I feel like this outfit is the essence of Saturday morning brunch and a walk on the beach. So pretty much the dreamiest lifestyle of all.
2 // Notice how I said laid-back not edgy? But being edgy would be my dream. My denim dream.  My edgy denim dream.
3 // Yaaaas.
4 // *faints*
5 // Teeny tiny picture of best oversized outfit ever.
6 // I would go on many fancy dates in this outfit.
7 // Another teeny tiny picture of perfectly simple style.

Back to the fast.

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

I went shopping! Got some wishlist items. So I'm on a fast now, you know gotta afford food and stuff. Wishlists will still happen...but I'll probably have to make unrealistic ones so I don't get tempted. Don't even try to tell me that you don't love a good sale. Or a good shopping trip. It happens. Even to the stingiest of people. So here are some things that I got.

Gap is having this really rad sale right now...I would suggest checking it out. It was so rad that I am adding prices to this thing. Wahooo.

1 // First, I looked at the jeans. I love me some gap jeans. So comfy and they make my butt look good to put it bluntly. These are perfectly distressed and I got them for $21.00 with some cents thrown in there. My mind was blown.
2 // This t-shirt. Gold. $4.97. Not even kidding.
3 // I'm wearing this beauty right now. Comfortable, cute, stylish, perfectly loose. Plus, Tyler likes it.  Oh...$6.49. That's stealing people!
4 // I know, I know. It's striped and navy and something I have in my closet. But I don't have one JUST like this.  It's also incredibly soft. It was also $9.07
5 // Long, long ago...I begged my mom for a pair of slip on vans. At the time we couldn't afford them so she got me some beautiful air walk slip ons with music notes on them. I was in love. I wore those shoes until they smelled terrible and the soles had holes. They were incredibly comfortable and really cute. Well now that I'm older...I can actually buy my own Vans. I had been wanting these for a while. I know that they aren't booties, but I decided to give the bootie craze a rest...I'll get some later. When I find the perfect pair. For now, these are my favorite thing in the entire world. So comfortable and so cool. It is love, really.
What's on your wish list? Are you a fan of Gap? Check out their sale, you won't regret it. Happy wishing and wearing. Stay gold.
