Friday Favorites // T-Shirts

Hey friends, I have found the drive to keep going. So what if I write about silly stuff like t-shirts? Who really cares? I sure don't.

So let's talk about t-shirts. I own waaaay too many of them. You own waaaay too many of them. Oprah probably doesn't own waaaay too many of them, but she probably would if she could. 

Okay and maybe t-shirts aren't the most fashionable thing, but if I've learned one thing about fashion, it's that it's all individual, unless you are applying for a position at Vogue, then you better get your shiz together and find a friend who can get you Chanel samples pieces STAT. 

Anyway, I am all about the t-shirt. I've said it once, and I'll say it again...I am a t-shirt and jeans girl. Throw in an oversized bag for a dress and call me fantastic. Take that, Anna! Okay, just kidding Anna...I love you. 

So here is a round up of some of my favorite t-shirts to sport when the whether gets warm. I'll try to find all the exact shirts from my closet, but we're just going to do the best that we can. Ya dig? Ya dig. 

And one more thing...why don't I wear more color? I need to get my act together. 

1 // So I bought this from J.Crew on a mega-sale, for like $14. Well the sleeves were massive and so I chopped them. Now it's the best short-sleeve top I have. The double-stripe gets me every time. Now if I could just find shorts that are gold like those pants. 

2 & 3 // The best shirts I have ever spent money on. So they don't look like much and everyone thinks they are too boxy, but they are Gap's best made items, ever, in my very humble opinion. You could honestly wear these reversed, roll up the sleeves, half tuck them, dress up, dress down...I'm currently craving a striped midi skirt to wear them with. The world in your oyster with these babies on. Plus, comfort. They are straight up the most comfortable things. I almost wore the grey one for 3 days straight. Oh wait, I didn't almost, I did. 

4 // I think I'm sharing this dress mostly because of the way the girl is standing in it. What is with "models" and all instagram fashion girls standing like this? I put quotations around models, because I don't mean Gigi Hadid models, I mean instagram models or girls from Utah that think they are really stylish. Okay am I being too mean? Probably. Okay, anyway, this dress it's light, it's comfortable and even though it's 3/4 sleeve you can still wear it because it is just that light and airy. The pocket is really cool too. I love a good chest pocket. 

I love all t-shirt dresses for this time of year. Target comes out with the best ones. So go look. Size up for a Pinterest, street style, parisian-chic look. And don't brush your hair for good measure. ;) 

5 // THIS DRESS. THE HEAVENS OPENED AND THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS SANG AND IT'S ANOTHER PIECE THAT I HAVE TO STOP MYSELF FROM WEARING FOR A WHOLE ENTIRE WEEK. 

All dramatics aside, I love this thing. I do, I do, I do. In fact, I should start a list of pieces that I will wear for the rest of my life. Or I should write a list in a notebook of things to never give away. 

6 // The A-Line top from H&M is a perfect staple for spring. It's swingy and it comes in different prints and colors. Unfortunately it shrinks horribly in the wash. My poor striped one is a few inches short now and I'm wondering if I should part with it. So hand-wash. Annoying, but just do it. Or buy a new one. It's $12.95 and I'm considering it. 

7 // The jersey tops that are $9.95 from H&M are another great piece. They also come in different colors and prints. They are also VERY comfortable. Like wearing a pajamas, but cool pajamas that you're not embarrassed to wear in public. They are extremely flattering too. I love flattering tops. 

8 // A t-shirt with varsity stripes. I have this one in all three colors, but there are better quality ones out there for cheap. These ones are seeing their last day, but I still like them. They are easy to throw on and I love wearing them with necklaces. Believe it or not, Forever 21 one versions of this shirt are WAY better for the price. These are particularly good with statement necklaces. So, you know?

Confession...

I love Forever 21. Love it. So much. Get married, and you'll see why. Cute clothes. Sometimes crappy quality. But after a good search or two, you find those darn adorable, pretty good quality clothes for ULTRA cheap.

You may not believe me, but give it a try. The same goes for H&M. Eat a good breakfast or lunch, bring a water bottle in your satchel, and have an idea of what you want. Go into the store with a purpose and a patience and you will strike gold.

1 // I kind of really want this entire outfit. It's amazing. The skirt, the sweater, the booties. THAT HAT! Wow-ee. It's delish.  

2 // Oh my. Tyler and I want one. It's so good. The white one is A-MA-ZING!

3 // Straight out of True Grit. This looks like it fits like a gem. 

4 // This will always be a favorite. I think this zippered sweatshirt has been around since I first started shopping at F21. 

5 // Perfect for Valentine's Day! Who doesn't love a light, blushy pink? 

5 // I tried this on. OH MY GOSH. I'm in love. I want it in every color! 

6 // Yep. Love this.

Now...Forever 21 shoes are seriously underrated. Take a look. You won't regret it. I have a testimony of Forever 21 shoes.

And now my moody H&M picks that really define my every day style when I'm home. Dressing like a guy is the easiest thing in the world. I dig.

Instagram feeds are the worst.

I've been getting all of my posts done early this week. Totally posted a playlist on a wednesday and the wish list on tuesday. Way to be, Dani. Way to be. Why not get the Friday Favorites done early too? These still might be put up on Friday, but at least it won't be on Saturday!

The most ridiculous wish list ever...

Like none of these things are actually on my ACTUAL or LITERAL wish list. These are like the WISHES of wishes. In reality...I really want a half-zip sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, skinny sweat pants, and booties...with some fancy-schmancy H&M style sweatshirts with extra fringe. Don't know what I'm talking about? Yeah I'll probably include them in this post. Stay tuned. And don't be shocked by the exorbitant prices of some of the items you are about to see. In no particular order...here they are. Read the captions, they know the way.

1 // Seriously loving these white blouses. Silky, satiny, sophisticated. Can be dressed up or down. There was a blouse that I absolutely loved that was for sale at H&M, but of course it sold out. Story of my life.

2 // Monk straps for the ladies? Yes, please.

3 // Maybe...just maybe I need to buy some Chelsea boots. Get rid of the buckles, give me the chelsea!

4 // But if you couldn't tell, I'm a serious sucker for that cognac bootie. Cognac booties win every time.

6 // I'll take the 3/4 sleeved sweatshirt with the fringe. Hold the boots with the fur.

These ones are keepers.

1. Tyler and I are in LOVE with this sauce. (Psst. Would anyone with a Costco card be willing to buy this for us when they go? We will be most grateful and we will pay you back.) It's unreal.

2. So excited to try this recipe next week. Who doesn't love a ONE DISH meal?

3. And now I want the cookbook.

4.  Tyler and I live in a small space and these will come in handy one day, for sure.

5. Natalie's entire "Get Me Dressed" series. Oh I almost forgot one.

Where to shop?

I am on the hunt for affordable (and when I say affordable, I don't mean J.Crew 40% off.) I mean affordable and stylish places to buy clothes and shoes and accessories and what not. You get the drill, right? So sound off in the comments if you have anything other than H&M and Forever 21, which I will be mentioning in this post.

So right now, my obsessions have been black sweaters, skinny jeans, sneakers, and booties. And this could be because my feet hate me for wearing this flats that are on my feet right now, today. Here are my picks when it comes to clothes that I just mentioned (and then some.)

1 // H&M is having a killer sale right now. 50% off all sales items, and I have found legit gems on the sales rack. And this could be one of them. Throw this on with everything. Literally everything. Like I'm gonna do it. 

2 // Calling my name. Calling it. 

3 // Okay imagine this with boyfriend jeans ripped just right, the blackest skinny jeans, underneath a perfectly slouchy sweater...or the boucle cardigan that's coming up. 

4 // So this one time I found these in army green at H&M and totally passed them up. That won't happen again. 

5 // Now this is gold. And with that silk blouse. Oh yeah.  

6 // Could this get any better?

7 // Adidas, you had me at "Stan." 

8 // Chelsea boots get me.

9 // Totally tried these on in black as well and it was foot heaven. So comfortable and so cute. Like for real you guys. 

10 // Saved the best for last. THE CREME DE LA CREME! These are so good, even Tyler wants me to get them. And I think I will.

Do as the Parisians do, I say. All of those girls have a closet full of t-shirts and jeans and they always look rad. They don't fuss about trends. *sigh* I definitely want to be that way one day. P.S. Just thought I should let you know I'm taking a Basics to In-Design class right now so this blog is going to get a revamp and restyle in the future. Maybe it will take the whole semester, but I can't wait.
